Jack-o-Lantern

On Monday, Noah and I (well, mostly Noah) carved a pumpkin to make a jack-o-lantern. I don't think we'll be winning any creativity contests, but it was fun. If the crisp cool air and the changing leaves hadn't already put me in the Fall spirit, carving the pumpkin sure did. I think this is my favorite time of year (at least until Spring).

Asheboro Zoo

October 14, 2006

Noah and I drove to the NC Zoo in Asheboro on Saturday. It was a beautiful fall day, and the leaves around the zoo were just beginning to change colors. We started our tour in North America and wound our way through the park, ending in Africa. Just as the zoo was closing, we caught a shuttle back to our car in the parking lot. My favorite things were the elf owl, the otters, and the aviary.

If you get the chance, you should visit the NC Zoo. Most of the animals have a lot of space to roam around in, and there's a pretty good variety of species.
